Dr. Tammy L. Warmouth

Dr. Tammy L. Warmouth started practicing optometry in 1994, and has been with Main Optical since October, 1995.  Dr. Warmouth is a native of  Luzerne County.  She attended Wilkes University for her undergraduate work where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1990.  Dr. Warmouth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in visual science in 1991 and her doctorate degree in 1994 at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Warmouth is a member of the American Optometric Association,Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association.  She has served as an officer for the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association since 2001, and was President of the local society in 2007 and 2008.  Dr. Warmouth was awarded Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2001 and Optometrist of the Year 2010 by her local society. 
Dr. Warmouth also provides clinical observation for the King’s College Physician Assistant students.
Dr. Warmouth enjoys practicing primary care optometry which includes routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, evaluating and treating glaucoma, cataract evaluations for pre and post op care, and co-managing refractive surgery.  She is always willing to listen to her patient’s special needs and concerns and feels that it is important to give the patients the time that they need.  New patients are always welcome.

Jeff Mullen, Owner of Main Optical and native to Luzerne, now going on his 19th year in business!
Jeff started Main Optical in January of 1990 in a small store down the street from where they are now.  It was basically a single room with a divided wall from the showroom to the lab where they made the glasses. Jeff’s grandfather owned a little shop down the street and wanted to help them move into a bigger building so that they may offer eye exams to all customers.  So with the help of both Jeff’s parents as well as his grandparents, they moved to where we are today.

In 1995, Dr Tammy Warmouth came to join them and in July of 2004, they remolded the store and expanded not only their capability to examine more thoroughly they became the area’s only full service lab that makes lenses; single vision lenses, FT28 line bifocals and progressive, no-line bifocals.
